Answer: because one equation is a multiple of the other equation by a factor of 3

Explanation:

for the equation 6x+9=12 if you divide out the common factor of 3, you get:

3*( 2x + 3 ) = 3*4

Divide 3 from both sides

We get 2x+3 =4
