A hiker travels south along a straight path for 3 h with an average pəəds of 1 km/h, then travels south for 2 h with an average velocity of 2 km/h. what is the hiker's displacement 1o the total trip?

ok so we see that we travelled south (1km/hr * 3h). cancelled out the hours, leaving with 3km south. we see that we travelled south again (2km/hr * 2h). canceled out the hours, leaving with 4km south. we add these two values, giving (3km south + 4km south) giving 7km south. if asked to solve in a cartesian system, we see that we traveled 7km down on the y axis with 0km horizontally on the x-axis, therefore giving us (change in y=-7km).
