Answer: The answer is -12

Explanation: First we figure out the time, acceleration, distance, and initial and final velocity.

time = 1.22s

Initial velocity = 0m/s (because the ball was dropped meaning it wasn't moving in the beginning)

Acceleration = -9.8m/s^2 (acceleration for free fall/gravity)

Final velocity = ?

We do not have distance in the problem meaning we use Kinematic Equation number 1. Vf = Vi + at

2. Since Vi = 0, we can take it out and change the equation to Vf = at

3. We multiply (-9.8 * 1.22)

4. We get the answer -11.956 which we round to 3 significant figures making the answer -12m/s.
