The area of the shaded region is 9cm²

The formula for calculating the area of a triangle is expressed as;

Area = 1/2bh

Such that;

  • b is the base
  • h is the height

Then, area of the triangle is = 6 ×6/2

Area = 18cm²

Now, area of a square is s²

Area of the square = 3² = 9cm²

Now, area of the shaded area;

= Area of triangle - area of square

= 18 - 9

= 9cm²
