Subject : To draw attention to the unfairness artisans in the country are facing.
Respected Ma'am,
My motive behind writing this letter is to draw attention to the decay of traditional forms of art and craft as the unfairness against the artisans making handicrafts is immense in the country and as a citizen of the nation, the awareness towards the ongoing public discourse is legitimate.
There are numerous art & craft collectors abroad and a number of them are rapidly eyeing the handicrafts made by the artisans in our nation. Not only the collectors, but the mesmerizing pieces of art have become captivative to the general public of many foreign countries but to look at the other side of the door ,the very handicrafts are bought at a very low price from the traditional artisans but sold at price nearly 13 times the original amount which is unfair as the original artisans get discouraged by the low amount they receive for their craft and this results in the erasure of the handicrafts they have been creating for generations as they fail to make enough money to feed their families and therefore,this is a matter of huge concern. In order to stop this demolishment due to the discouragement of creating craft ,the government needs to take serious actions so that the artisans can paid the price of their art .
Not only the government has a role to play, the country's own citizens need to take steps and stop the tradition from fading away and therefore support the artisans .It would be of great help if you could highlight the situation in a column of your esteemed daily so that some actions can be taken regarding the concern and a change can be brought for the people who are being affected by it.
