4(3a-3)+2a when you expand youget

((4x3a)-(4x3)) + 2a = 12a - 12 + 2a then we collect the like term first 12a + 2a - 12

14a -12

therefore 14a - 12 is not equal to 14a- 3

12a-12+2a = 14a-3
14a-12 = 14a-3

So he’s not correct.
