Answer:

Slope (m): The slope of a straight line passing through two points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) is given by the formula: m = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1).

Calculation of the slope (m):

m = (-4 - (-4)) / (9 - 1)

m = 0 / 8

m = 0

Calculation of the ordinate at the origin (b):

We can use any of the two points, let's take (1, -4):

y = mx + b

-4 = 0 * 1 + b

b = -4

the equation of the line is:y = 0x - 4
