A bus moves with a speed of 40 km/hr for 15 minutes and then with a speed of 60 km/hr for the next 15 minutes. Calculate the total distance covered by the bus. (Ans. 25 km)​

Answer:

25 km

Explanation:

Distance = rate x time

The rate is given in KM per hour so we need to convert 15 minutes of hours. 15 minutes would be 1/4 of an hour (15/60)

d = 40(1/4) + 60(1/4)

d = 10 + 15

d = 25 km
