x² - 12x - 54 = 0

( -b ± √b² - 4ac ) / 2a

=

( 12 ± √144 + 216 ) / 2

(12 + 18.97) / 2 = 30.97 /2 ≈ 15.49

(12 - 18.97) / 2 = -6.97 / 2 ≈ -3.49
