The process of brickmaking is most similar to regional metamorphism. Regional metamorphism occurs when rocks are buried deep within the Earth’s crust. The pressure and temperature increase as they are buried deeper. This causes the minerals in the rock to change into new minerals. This process can result in the formation of new rocks.
