a) First find how many beads fills one inch by dividing 12 by 3.

Number of beads that fill 1 inch = 12 ÷ 3

= 4 beads

Now, to find the beads need to fill 13 inches string, multiply 4 and 13.

Number of beads that fill 13 inches = 4 * 13

= 52 beads
