1) The mistake u made is in the work step 2 when u transposed 4 to the side of 12 you should have changed the sign. It should have been multiplication.

2) Just recheck it once.

So, x was 48

x/4 - 5 = 7

Transpose 5 first.

So,

x/4 = 7 + 5

(Remember to change the sign when u transpose 5 to the RHS)

So,

x/4 = 12

Transpose 4.

So,

x = 12 × 4
