Answer: I got 78 cm^2

Explanation:

First let's look at the cube on top.

5 of the 6 surfaces are visible (the bottom one is covered by the rectangular prism)

so it's 5 * (2^2)cm = 20 cm^2

The rectangular prism has faces (3x5), (2x5), and (2x3)

There are 2 (2x3) surfaces, 2 (2x5) surfaces (the one on top is cut off by the cube tho, so it's really another (2x3) surface)

so, 3 * (2x3) + 2 * (3x5) + 1 * (2x5) =

3*6 + 2*15 + 10 =

18 + 30 + 10 =

58

then add in the cube's surface

58 + 20 =

78 cm^2
