If the temperature of a sample of chlorine is initially at 25C, what is its final temperature of 150g of chlorine absorbs 150 J of heat, and the specific heat of chlorine in 0.96 J/gC

We can use the equation:

Q = mcΔT

where Q is the heat absorbed, m is the mass of the substance, c is the specific heat, and ΔT is the change in temperature.

Rearranging the equation to solve for ΔT, we get:

ΔT = Q / (mc)

Substituting the given values, we get:

ΔT = 150 J / (150 g x 0.96 J/gC)

ΔT = 1.5625 C

Therefore, the final temperature of the chlorine sample would be:

25 C + 1.5625 C = 26.5625 C

Rounding to the nearest tenth, the final temperature is 26.6 C.
