Use the distributive property to solve this question.

Distribute the 1/2y and the -50 over the next bracket.

(1/2y - 50)(3/5y + 10) = 1/2y(3/5y) + 1/2y(10) + - 50(3/5y) + - 50(10)

= 3/10y + 5y - 30y - 500

= -24 7/10y - 500
