For this 3-d shape, the base will be the triangle that's in front (and at the back) The area of the base is:

A = 1/2 bh

= 1/2•7•5

= 17.5 ft^2

note that the b, base and h, height in this formula is just talking about the triangle...different from the whole prism.

The Volume of the prism is:

V = BaseArea•h

In this case the height of the prism is 10.

Vol = 17.5 • 10

Vol = 175 ft^3
