Length l = 30 cm

Width w = 14 cm

Since, circle touches the edges (lengths) of the rectangle.

Therefore,

Diameter of circle = 14 cm

So, radius r = 14/2 = 7 cm

Area of the shaded region = Area of rectangle - Area of circle


= lw - \pi {r}^(2) \\ \\ = 30 * 14 - 3.14 {(7)}^(2) \\ \\ = 420 - 3.14 * 49 \\ \\ = 420 - 153.86 \\ \\ = 266.14 \: {cm}^(2)
