Answer:

86.2° and 3.8°

Explanation:

COMPLEMENTARY ANGLES ARE 2 ANGLES WHOSE SUM IS EQUAL TO 90.

LET X = FIRST ANGLE, SO THE SECOND ANGLE WOULD BE X° + 82.4° SINCE IT IS 82.4° MORE THAN THE FIRST ANGLE.

NOW ADD THE TWO ANGLES TOGETHER AND THAT ANSWER IS 90.

THE EQUATION WOULD BE X + X + 82.4 = 90

2X + 82.4 = 90

SUBTRACT 82.4 FROM BOTH SIDES

2X = 7.6

DIVIDE BOTH SIDES BY 2 AND GET X = 3.8

THIS TELLS US THAT THE FIRST ANGLE IS 3.8°

SECOND ANGLE IS 82.4° + X. REPLACING X WITH 3.8° WE GET 82.4° + 3.8° = 86.2°

CHECK

FIRST ANGLE = 3.8° PLUS SECOND SNGLE = 86.2° ADDED TOGETHER GIVES 90. THIS MEANS THE ANGLES ARE COMPLEMENTAR
