Rewrite the function to make it easy to graph using transformations of its parent function Describe the graph

y=(9x-27)-1
Y=
The graph _____(stretches, shrinks) vertical by a factor of _____ and is translated____ units to the _____(right,left) and ______ units _____(up,down)
I don’t know how to do it please explain thank you

Answer:

Explanation:

y= (9x-27)² -1

Try to write it to be in the form of y= a(x-h)²+k where (h, k) is the vertex

y= (9x-27)² -1, factor 9 in parenthesis

y= [9(x-3)]²-1, use that (a*b)² =a²*b²

y= 81(x-3)²-1

The graph -stretches- vertical by a factor of _81_

(because the graph of x² becomes narrower since |81| > 1)

and is translated_3_ units to the -right -

(because taking away from the x will move the graph to the right)

and _1_ units -down

(because taking away from 81(x-3)² means you take away from y one unit so we go down 1 unit)
