Explanation:

Find leg
a of a right triangle if leg
b =6 and hypotenuse = 9.

To find side
a use Pythagorean Theorem:


a^2+b^2=c^2

After substituting b = 6 and c = 9 we have:


a^2+6^2=9^2


a^2=9^2-6^2


a^2=81-36


a^2=45


a=√(45)


a=3√(5)


a=6.7
