Distinguish how fermentation and respiration differ.

fermentation occurs when there is no more oxygen left for the cell/organism to continue regular cellular respiration, which produces 42 ATP. when there isn’t enough oxygen to continue CR the body goes into lactic acid fermentation which produces about 2 ATP. if your body stays in LAF for too long, lactic acid begins to build up which is what causes your muscles to cramp.
