From the information given, we can deduce the following :

Let :

• Total number of students = x

cleared all = 0.05x

cleared none = 0.05x

Amount left = x - 0.05x - 0.05x = 0.9x

Cleared one section = 0.25(0.9x) = 0.225x

cleared 4 sections = 0.2(0.9x) = 0.18x

cleared 2 sections = 0.245x

cleared 3 sections = 300

Take the sum = x

0.05x + 0.05x + 0.225x + 0.18x + 0.245x + 300 = x

0.75x + 300 = x

300 = x - 0.75x
