The height reached and length of ladder are 4.1 m and 4.4 m respectively.

Using trigonometric concept;

The height of the house which the ladder reaches is related thus ;

  • Tan(70) = height/ 1.5

height = Tan(70) × 1.5

height = 4.12 ≈ 4.1 m

The height of the house reached by the ladder is 4.1 m

2.)

Using pythagoras rule:

length of ladder = hypotenus

hypotenus = √opposite² + adjacent²

Length of ladder = √4.1² + 1.5²

Length of ladder = √19.06 ≈ 4.365

Hence, the length of the ladder is 4.4m
