A picture frame is shaped like a rectangle whose perimeter is 140 cm. The length is 4 times as long as the width. Find the length and the width.​

L= 56cm

W= 14cm

Explanation:

Given data

Perimeter of the frame= 140cm

Let the width be

W=x cm

Length= 4x

We know that

P= 2L+2W

subsitute

140= 2(4x)+2(x)

140 = 8x+2x

140= 10x

Divide both sides by 10

x= 140/10

x= 14cm

The length is

L= 4(14)

L= 56cm
