Suppose that you add some solid detergent to the water

in a washing machine. Then, you decide that your clothes
are really dirty, so you add more detergent. Is the solution
of the detergent and water now more concentrated or
more dilute? Explain how you know.

your solution would be more CONCENTRATED because you added more solvent (detergent) to the solute (water). this increases the solvent to solute ratio making it more concentrated. in order to make it more dilute you would add more water
