Would you use saber or conocer when you are talking about.....

you being familiar with the city of Phoenix.

Conocer, yo conosco donde esta la ciudad de Phoenix

You would use conocer.

You would use it like this: "Yo conozco la ciudad de Phoenix."

or: "Yo he conocido la ciudad de Phoenix." if it is in past tense.
