The school yard is twice as long as it is wide. The width is 23 yards. How much fencing is needed to enclose the school yard?

P=2(2W+W)

P=2(3W)

P=6W and we are told W=23 yd so

P=6(23)

P=138 yd

23 × 2 = 46
