A dessert recipe calls for

cups of milk and makes 4 servings. How many cups of milk are needed for 6 servings?

2 1/4 (2.25) cups of milk

Explanation:

to find out how much milk you needed for 6 servings you first had to figure out how much milk is used for 2 servings because 4+2=6.

Since 2 is half of four all we really have to do is divide the amount of milk used for 4 servings (1 1/2)

1 1/2 ÷ 2= 3/4 (1.5 ÷ 2=0.75)

then you add that to the amount of milk you use for 4 servings and you have your answer
