A number has 6 digits. The last digit is 4. If the 4 is moved to the from of the number, it. becomes 4 time greater. What is the number?

Very Simple !

If ABCDE is that number then with given information we can rewrite the digits of that number as,

A B (B — 4) (B + 4) (4A)

A can take value either 1 or 2 as for A= 3, E = 12 i.e. 2 digit value & hence not acceptable !

B should be less than 6 to keep value of D limited to a single digit only ! & also greater than 3 simultaneously , so as to keep value of C at least greater than zero ! Thus B also can take 2 values only either 4 Or 5

So that 5 digit number is not unique but can take 4 values as follows !

(1) 14084

(2) 15194

(3) 24088

(4) 25198
