The fully simplified slope-intercept equation is : y = -4x/3 -4

The equation of the line written in slope intercept form is stated thus :

  • y = bx + c ; b = slope , c = intercept

Using pair of points: (-9, 8) , (-3, 0)

Slope, b = (0 - 8) / (-3 - (-9))

slope = -8/6

slope = -4/3

The intercept, c is the value of y when x = 0 ; From the graph, (0, -4)

Hence, c = -4

Now we have ;

y = -4x/3 -4

Hence, The fully simplified slope-intercept equation is : y = -4x/3 -4
