Im working on parallel and perpendicular lines how do i solve this (2,4), x - 6y = 2

Answer:

x - 6y = 2

-6y = -x + 2

y = (1/6)x - (1/3)

Parallel line:

4 = (1/6)(2) + b

4 = 1/3 + b

b = 11/3

y = (1/6)x + (11/3)

-6y = -x - 22

x - 6y = -22

Perpendicular line:

4 = -6(2) + b

4 = -12 + b

b = 16

y = -6x + 16

6x + y = 16
