In the expression, -3 * (-2) + 4y = -14, the value of y = -2

How to solve the expression

The given expression is

-3 * (-2) + 4y = -14

We remover the parenthesis by duplication

-6 + 4y = -14

collect like terms

4y = -14 + 6

4y = -8

Isolate y by dividing through by 4

y = -8/4

y = -2
