width = x units

length = 5 + 2x units

The perimeter of a rectangle is given by;

P = 2(l + b)

Substituting values;

124 = 2[(5 + 2x) + x]

124 = 2[5 + 3x]

124 = 10 + 6x

124 - 10 = 6x

114 =6x

x= 114/6

x = 19

width = 19 units
