What do you think about the hypocrisy of Thomas Jefferson and other signers of the Declaration of Independence owning slaves?how should Americans feel about this?

I think that you shouldn't overthink it too much. You need to keep in mind that it was a different time. Slaves were considered property. Americans shouldn't judge them too harshly, because if we judge past issues with the lens of today, we could keep saying how bad humanity was as a whole
