Agree or disagree with this paragraph. The controversy around Lil Nas X's "Ol Town Road" is fairly interesting. I remember the first time the song was released, it shocked the world it seems. Lil Nas X, along with the music video, was fairly different and out of the ordinary. I find that the controversial aspect of it all is seen in the context of his music and the country genre. It is not common for this message to be played within the country genre and to have a music video to reflect that message. I find that the biggest difference between Darius Rucker, Charley Pride, and Lil Nas X is that Lil Nas X is a young artist who is not bothered with the backlash that he may and did receive. As a young artist, there is less expectation for him to have performed a traditional country song.
