The Egyptians thought that the higher classes were more important in life and in life after death. They buried peoples most precious belonging with them so that they would be rich in the afterlife also. The higher class or the rich had more things during life so therefore they had more things in the afterlife. The Egyptians thought that there were scales when you die that determine if you were a good person or not. The Egyptians also believed in the gods like Zeus and Hades and thought that in the afterlife everyone went to the same place which was where hades was in the underworld. Whether you were rich or poor determines whether you got a good spot or not.
