Does our clothing communicate a message about us? What does our dress at the office, school, or any workplace say about us? Should there be dress codes and guildelines for how we dress in various guidelines for how we dress in various settings? What are your thoughts?

Answer:

In my opinion I would say clothing is an excellent way of being able to express ourselves. By putting rules on what we can and cannot wear strains our ability to be creative and express the way we feel. Dress codes are also quite sexist in the way there are things males/females can wear that males/females cannot, I think by abolishing dress codes could take the strains off us and possibly destroy the negative stigma of what people wear.

Answer:

Yes, in certain environments, clothing communicates a message about our commitment and work ethic. For example, it would be okay to wear a crop top when you're on a casual shopping spree, but wearing something like that to an office or work meeting can convey unprofessionalism. In certain places, I think there should be a dress code. However, such a topic is debatable and some people think that dress codes violate freedom of speech. I think the best practice in such a situation is to follow common sense and your own judgement.

Hope this helps :)
