How do you solve this equation

2x+5y=-2

-2x-7y=6

Answer: x=4, y=-2

For this system of equations, we can use the elimination method, where two variables from both equations will cancel our (in this case, 2x and -2x.

Adding the equations gives us -2y=4, where solving for y gives us -2.

Plugging -2 into any of the two equations and solving for x will result in x=4.
