Answer:

-2.79, -4.21

Explanation:

The function seen in the graph is 0.5 (x + 3.5)² - 1.

Hence,

0.5(x+3.5)^(2) -1=0\\0.5(x+3.5)^(2) =1\\(x+3.5)^(2) = 0.5\\x+3.5 = √(0.5)\\or\\ x+3.5=-√(0.5) \\

Finding the first answer,

x+3.5=√(0.5) \\x=√(0.5)-3.5\\x=-2.79 (3sf)

Finding the second answer,

x+3.5=-√(0.5)\\x=-√(0.5) -3.5\\x=-4.21(3sf)
