A square has two lengths, (6x-1)cm and (4x+6)cm.

What is the length of one side of the square, the answer must be written in the form, side=.......cm

Answer:

side = 20 cm

Explanation:

We assume the two given lengths are sides of the square, so are equal to each other.

6x -1 = 4x +6

2x = 7

We could find x = 3.5, but we can use 2x, too.

(2)(2x) +6 = 2(7) +6 . . . find the side length

4x+6 = 20 . . . . the side length of the square
