Explanation:

3(5x - 4) needs to be simplified

So we multiply 5x by 3

So 3 x 5x = 15x

Then we multiply -4 by 3

3 x -4 = - 12

Put those together we get 15x - 12

The same equation as the one on the right side

So since 15x - 12 = 15x - 12, the x variable can be any number
