Answer:

0.5041 = 50.41% probability of getting 2 of the same colour

Explanation:

A probability is the number of desired outcomes divided by the number of total outcomes.

What is the probability of getting 2 of the same colour?

Both blue or both red

Since they are replaced, we have, in each trial:

6 blue from a set of 6 + 5 = 11

5 red from a set of 6 + 5 = 11

Probability of both blue:

Each with 6/11 probability. So

P = ((6)/(11))^2 = (36)/(121)

Probability of both red:

Each with 5/11 probability. So

P = ((5)/(11))^2 = (25)/(121)

Total:

p = (36)/(121) + (25)/(121) = (61)/(121) = 0.5041

0.5041 = 50.41% probability of getting 2 of the same colour
