Answer:

y = -0.5x + 3

Explanation:

The equation of a linear model is generally represented as;

y = mx + b

where m

is slope and b is the y-intercept

We can get slope by using the slope equation

m =

(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

(x1,y1) = (-4,5)

(x2,y2) = (4,1)

m = (1-5)/(4 + 4) = -4/8 = -0.5

The equation is thus;

y = -0.5x + b

to get b, we substitute any of the two points coordinates

1 = -0.5(4) + c

1 = -2 + c

c = 2 + 1

c = 3
