We need to find the line perp. to x = 0 and pass through the point ( 4 , - 4)

so,

The line x = 0 is actually is the y-axis

so, the perpendicular line to y-axis is x-axis

The slope of the x-axis is = 0

And the required line will be parallel to x-axis and pass through the point (4 , -4)

Which mean y-intercept = -4

We should know the general slope-intercept form is y = mx + c

where m is the slope and c is the y -inercept

So, we have calculated the slope and y - intercept

slope = m = 0

y-intercept = c = -4

so,

The equation of the line is y = 0 * x - 4

so,

y = -4
