The number of yodelers is twice the number of xylophones, how do I write this in a equation ?

Answer:

X=(Y*2) // Y=(X/2)

Explanation:

Xylophones = "X"

Yodelers = "Y"

First Equation: X=(Y*2) essentially just explains that the xylophones is equal to the yodelers times 2

Second Equation: Basically the same thing, but rather than multiplying the yodelers by two, it divides the xylophones in half.
