You have the following equation:

-3(h + 5) + 2 = 4(h + 6) - 9

In order to find the solution of the previous equation you proceed as follow:

-3(h + 5) + 2 = 4(h + 6) - 9 apply distribution property both sides

-3(h) - 3(5) + 2 = 4(h) + 4(6) - 9

-3h - 15 + 2 = 4h + 24 - 9 simplify like terms both sides

-3h - 13 = 4h + 15 subtract 4h both sides

-3h - 4h - 13 = 15 add 13 both sides

-3h - 4h = 15 + 13 simplify like terms both sides

-7h = 28 divide by -7 both sides

h = 28/(-7)

h = -4

Hence, the solution to the given equation is h = -4
