Start by calling each score

\begin{gathered} \text{first score } \\ x+15 \\ \text{second score } \\ x \end{gathered}

then, write the equation for the sum

x+x+15=131

simplify the equation

2x+15=131

solve for x

\begin{gathered} 2x=131-15 \\ 2x=116 \\ x=58 \end{gathered}

the score for the first test is

58+15=73

the score for the second test is

58
