First, we have to distribute 5(a+7) using the distributive property. We get 5a and 35. Then, we do the same with 2(a+4), getting 2a and 8. Lastly, we add both results. 5a + 2a and 8 + 35 = 7a + 43
Therefore, the answer would be 7a +73.
