You eat a candy bar. Your body breaks down this snack into its basic components, which includes sugar. In response to the sugar, the cells in the pancreas release a signal (insulin) to communicate with other body cells (muscle, liver, and fat cells) that this sugar should be stored for later use.

Which of the following is acting as the target cell in the example above?
1.insulin
2.sugar
3.liver cells
4.pancreas cells

2. Insulin. Insulin targets the glucose, and tells the cell that it needs to store that glucose for later use in the form of fat. Hope that helps.
