Simplify the expression -2m-6(m+1)​

Answer:

-8m - 6

Explanation:

-2m -6( m + 1 )​

Distributive property (multiply what is in the parenthesis by what is out of it)

-2m -6 * m + -6 * 1

-2m -6m - 6

Combine like terms

-2m + -6m = -8m (remember 2 negatives numbers added will give you a bigger negative number so think of it as adding 2 numbers and then putting the negative sign in front of it)

-8m - 6

You cannot simplify it anymore, since it's not like terms
